My third and final lesson posted was a geometry lesson. I love math and find it fun to teach. What can be difficult for me is differentiating differently than the previous lessons–I tend to want to continue without adding those extra activities that enhance learning for students. This teach spark activity was very helpful for me in that I was able to take a pretty good lesson and make it a great lesson by including a couple of differentiating activities that helped students access learning more fully. I think we all can begin to rely on those methods that are comfortable and familiar to us. These methods are good and reliable but they can get boring to students so it is nice to get suggestions from others that are actually simple and easy to implement. I have really enjoyed this process of sharing lesson plans, especially with those who are not teaching at my grade level–they have a different perspective and give feedback with great insight.
